“High Desert Muse” 36 x 48 oil on canvas. The high desert fascinates me along with the hidden valleys of the small desert towns. Cooler temperatures are welcomed by desert dwellers, the tall bristled and twisted Joshua Trees stand tall and seemingly lonely out there in the vast wide-open spaces. I have a deep love for it’s unique history which brought me to Giant Rock, the miss-placed boulder stands several stories high with a wealth of tall tales all it’s own relating to the local shamans and more. The energy can be easily felt above as well as on the ground and I wanted to capture that in my painting.
