My love of birds brings them into my paintings and they will continue to show up from time to time. When developing a new piece I’ve often heard by other artists I admire to add a touch of the obscure, it creates curiosity and it becomes more of a storyline that the viewer tries to decipher… Like why did she put two stellar blue jays in a cactus painting? Blue jays are not synonymous with prickly pear cactus but these two fellows lie within a personal story of the individual I’m doing the painting for.
