My obsession with Alizarin Crimson

My obsession with Alizarin Crimson

Posted by Cindy Lee Jones on September 13, 2019 2:38 pm / 0 Comments

One of my favorite friends in the color family of oil paints, it’s rich translucent effect lends itself to be a great medium for shifting other colors like ultramarine blue seasoning it into a brilliant purple hue.
I am on a painting marathon this weekend, finishing up an experimental and tedious piece. This is only a small snippet of the finished painting. Pushing hard on it to the finshline so I can jump back into figurative work and portraiture.

Happy Friday the 13th, one of my favorite days of the year!
